Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that focuses primarily on diagnosing and treating problems with the musculoskeletal system.

Through massage, movement and manipulation, your osteopath will work to rebalance the structure and function of the body; not simply treating the presenting problem, but looking holistically at all the factors that have contributed towards your symptoms.

Treatment will aim to relieve pain, improve function and promote healing. It will also help to reduce the likelihood of the problem recurring. Your osteopath will explain their findings to you, so you can understand why your body has not been healing of its own accord.

Acupuncture is a system of healing which draws on over two thousand years of experience from China and the Far East. It involves inserting very fine needles into certain areas of the body to stimulate the nerves and muscles. These areas are called acupuncture points.

Acupuncture works to rebalance the body’s flow of energy, and the tradition is as much about the maintenance of health as the management of disease. By choosing specific points on the body the acupuncturist can encourage the body’s own healing response.

The philosophy of naturopathy is that your body is able to maintain health and heal itself given the right conditions and encouragement.

Pain and illness are signs that something is wrong or out of balance. A naturopath will try to resolve this at the root of the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms. Often people find that some very simple lifestyle changes can make radical differences.

Nigel Farrelly is our rehabilitation and Core Stability specialist at Queen Charlotte Street Clinic.

Felix grew up in Brighton and now lives in Bristol after achieving a first-class Masters of Osteopathy at Swansea University. Prior to university, Felix lived in Australia where he enjoyed staying active by surfing and running. During his time away, Felix experienced his own personal sports injuries which inspired him to pursue a career in osteopathy. After seeing the benefits of treatment and how it enabled him to return to sport, Felix has a keen interest to help others with their journey using a patient-centred approach.

Felix uses a structural and biomechanical approach to treatment, combined with exercise prescription, lifestyle advice and how to manage pain/injury when not in the clinic. He aims for his patients to understand their pain or injury, whilst creating a tailored management plan to improve movement and reduce pain.

Before qualifying as an osteopath, Felix had two-year’s experience working as a sports massage therapist focusing on injury rehabilitation. He enjoys working with a wide array of patients, each with their own goals and expectations.

Outside of the clinic, Felix has a keen interest in running, surfing, CrossFit and seeing live music. Now he lives further away from the surf, you’ll likely find him at The Wave on his days off.

I first discovered Rolfing® 6 years ago when I was suffering with chronic back and knee pain. I had tried everything except surgery, but any relief I felt was short lived.

After discovering Rolfing, I was blown by by the results and long-lasting changes after one session. The amount of movement range that I regained in my ankle was mind-blowing. I didn’t even realise how much range I had lost, until it was restored by just one session of Rolfing. A few years later, I decided to become a certified Rolfer® myself.

My journey to become a certified Rolfer began during the lockdowns in 2021. I realised I needed a work/life balance in my life, and that my passion for bringing balance in the body made me a perfect candidate to study Rolfing.

In our modern world of desk jobs and sedentary lifestyles, we need inspiring, life changing therapies like Rolfing that can change the way we use and experience our bodies for good. The way I see it, the only way to truly understand Rolfing is to experience it. If it wasn’t for this amazing modality, I dread to think where I’d be at now with my physical health and mobility.

So here I am, now working as a certified Rolfing practitioner after graduating from the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute (DIRI) in Boulder, Colorado.

I look forward to meeting and working with you.
